Notifications

Last updated: 2026-06-02

Duefy notifies you when important things happen — a client pays, a reminder fails to send, a webhook errors out, etc. You control which notifications you get under Settings → Notifications, split into two sections:

  • Email notifications — toggles for the emails Duefy sends to you, grouped into About chasing (collection alerts) and About Duefy (product news, off by default).
  • SMS notifications — opt-in text-message reminders sent to your clients (Pro / Team plans).

Available notifications

About chasing (collection alerts):

Notification Default What it covers
Payment received ✅ On A short daily summary of the payments that came in — at most one email a day, no matter how many invoices get paid. Covers every payment method (Stripe, manual mark-as-paid, reconciliation, import).
Client replies ✅ On We email you only when a reply needs your input — a dispute, "can't pay right now", a stop request, or anything our AI is unsure about. Routine replies (a promise to pay, an "already paid") are handled automatically and shown in the app, so you're not pinged for every message.
At-risk invoices ✅ On A daily early-warning email listing your active invoices that are due within the next few days and are owed by a client with a weak payment history (low credit grade) — a nudge to reach out before they slip. Sent at most once a day, and only when you have at-risk invoices.
Monthly report ✅ On A monthly summary of invoices sent, opened, and paid

About Duefy (product news — opt-in):

Notification Default What it covers
Product updates ◻️ Off Occasional news about new Duefy features
Tips & best practices ◻️ Off Practical advice on getting invoices paid faster

Toggle each one individually. Changes save immediately.

Why "Client replies" isn't one email per reply: Duefy's whole point is to keep collections off your plate. Our AI reads every reply, records promises to pay (and pauses reminders until then), flags blockers, and only interrupts you when a human decision is actually needed.

SMS reminders to clients

SMS reminders (Pro / Team) let Duefy text a payment reminder to a client alongside the email reminder. They're off by default — and turning on the master switch alone won't send any texts. All of the following must line up:

  1. Pro or Team plan — SMS isn't available on Solo.
  2. Master switch onSettings → Notifications → SMS reminders.
  3. Enabled on the step — in Settings → Reminder schedule, switch on SMS for the specific reminder step(s) you want texted. Only those steps send a text.
  4. The client has a phone number — clients without one are skipped.

When all four hold and a reminder step comes due, the client gets a short text (≤160 characters) with the payment link, logged alongside the email send. (Texting also requires Duefy's SMS provider to be configured — contact support if you've enabled everything and texts still aren't going out.)

Per-member preferences

Each team member sets their own preferences. The Owner can see who has what enabled on the Team page but can't change anyone else's settings.

Where notifications come from

All Duefy notifications come from noreply@duefy.ai. Add this address to your contacts to avoid the spam folder.

Unsubscribing

You can fully unsubscribe from a single email via the link at the bottom. That turns off all Duefy notifications for your account. You can re-enable them anytime in Settings.

Note: collection reminders going to your clients are separate — they're configured per-sequence and unsubscribing yourself doesn't affect them.
